Activity report at the Special Center for Hearth of Love in Haiti

The Foyer d'Amour school continues its various learning programs with children. It is difficult with all the unforeseen holidays to complete the program of the school year, the children are a bit heavy to move forward, you have to use a lot of tact and patience to pass and understand the lessons,. The disorders that persist in the country have many negative consequences on the learning of children who have heard and even witnessed violence or other traumatic scenes.

We had one-on-one meetings with some parents to discuss the behavior and changes noticed in their children.

We also ran a campaign with parents to provide support for their child to the clinic.

Thanks to the support of a benefactor, the children of the Foyer had the chance to have regular medical and psychological follow-up.

They have clinic appointments every Friday and Saturday with groups of 10 children and their parents who must see a doctor as needed. Many have had prescriptions for drugs or tests following their diagnosis.

The school provides transport for children and parents from school to the clinic during the two days each week, always with the support of our benefactor.

We started with the evaluations to conclude the 2019 - 2020 school year on Monday and we end this Friday, the children will have a break, the resumption of classes for the 2020 - 2021 academic year will be on November 3, 2020 according to the calendar of the National Ministry of Education.

Five children in the ninth grade will take the official exams this year.

The four surveillance cameras are repaired and are functional, they allow a better control of the operation of the school and also of the monitoring of the children even from a distance.

The management must submit the final reports within the framework of a partnership with the state university of the humanities after a three-month internship at the school of two students finishing in psychology.

The Foyer d'Amour needs support for the new school year 2020 - 2021.
