Never before was the placing of a Orthodox Cupola so beautiful!

Updated: Sep 13, 2020

Yes, finally, the church is being finished, after many many years of patience, thanks to the kind donors and the work of the head of the Haiti Mission, Fr. John Dumais, the Mission Secretary Mat. Rose Legoute and her brother, Fr. Peter Laguerre, who is the parish priest of the Church of St John of San Francisco, located in the town of Les Cayes in southwestern part of Haiti. Hurricane Matthew made a direct hit on this town two years ago. At this time Fr. Peter is directing the rebuilding of four very simple cement block homes for the faithful of his parish.       The church includes a beautiful iconostas built by Alexander Gertsovitch, new tile floors, and a small school attached to the church. There is also extra land for the (one day) building of a simple home for the priest, and a beautiful view over the adjacent waterways.  Pray for all of our far away, faithful Russian Orthodox Christians in Haiti!      Alexander has built three iconostasis for our Haiti parishes and the one that graces our Vladimirskaya Mother of God Parish in Coronado, Costa Rica.     He has recently been invited by Fr. John to come again and build two more, one more in Port-au-Prince and one in the town of Cape Haitian on the north shore! This is in connection with the planned 25th Anniversary of the founding of the Mission and the ordination of Fr. John.
